Xanthelasmas, dyskeratoses, syringomas are soft skin formations consisting of fatty deposits. They are most often formed around the eyes, on the skin of the upper eyelids. They can be associated with diseases such as dyslipidaemia, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, as well as dysfunction of internal organs such as the liver, pancreas, gall bladder.

Xanthelasmas, dyskeratoses, syringomas can be removed by laser.

How do I prepare for laser removal of xanthelasma, dyskeratosis, syringoma?

The area around the skin lesion to be removed is anaesthetised with a small amount of anaesthetic, which is injected with a very fine needle. The local anaesthetic numbs the area to be removed, so that laser removal is painless and causes no discomfort.

How is the laser removal of xanthelasma, dyskeratosis, syringoma performed?

During the procedure, all the laser energy is concentrated on the skin lesion. There, the laser light energy is converted into heat, which evaporates the water in the cells, the lesion is removed, and the surrounding skin remains intact.

The laser removal procedure normally takes up to 30 minutes.

What should I do after laser removal of xanthelasma, dyskeratosis, syringoma?

After the laser removal of xanthelasma, dyskeratosis, syringoma, it is recommended to use a special antibacterial ointment given by the doctor after the procedure for 5-7 days, 2 times a day, and not to wet the wound, or to rub or scratch the healing skin.

Avoid heat, hot water, sauna and ultraviolet rays for at least 24 hours after the procedure.

The wound can be wetted 2-3 days after the procedure.

The scab must not be touched or scratched. Do not use topical medications such as tretinoin, retinol, glycolic/salicylic acid for a few days after the procedure.

The skin recovers after the removal of xanthelasma, dyskeratosis, syringoma after 4 weeks.

It is very important to keep the laser-treated areas out of direct sunlight for at least 2 months. It is advisable to apply a cream with ultraviolet protection (SPF 50+).
