Polynucleotide injections

Croma PhilArt polynucleotide injections are a modern biostimulating treatment designed to support skin regeneration, restore hydration and improve the elasticity of the face and neck. These injections are also used to stimulate hair growth and improve the condition of the under-eye area.

The treatment uses highly purified polynucleotides obtained through advanced technologies, which are biologically compatible with human tissues.

Polynucleotides activate the skin’s natural regeneration processes by:
• stimulating collagen synthesis,
• supporting the fibroblast life cycle,
• providing a strong antioxidant effect.

As a result, the skin becomes smoother, firmer, better hydrated and visibly more radiant.

What are polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are natural biopolymers composed of nucleotide chains involved in cellular regeneration processes. Their structure is similar to human DNA, making them well tolerated and suitable even for delicate and sensitive areas.

PhilArt polynucleotides are derived from the DNA of freshwater trout raised under strictly controlled conditions. The quality of the raw material is continuously monitored according to rigorous safety standards, including heavy metal testing. This ensures exceptionally high raw material quality and product safety.

Although these products are biologically compatible and widely used in aesthetic medicine, any history of fish or seafood allergy is always carefully assessed during an individual consultation with the doctor.

Polynucleotide injections do not cause long-term tissue swelling or recurrent puffiness, making them suitable for use on the face and under-eye area, even for individuals prone to swelling or under-eye bags.

What makes Croma PhilArt polynucleotides unique?

Croma PhilArt products utilise the patented PN-HPT® (Highly Purified Technology), which ensures an exceptionally high degree of polynucleotide purity. This technology was developed in Italy and has been used in regenerative medicine for more than three decades.

Thanks to this advanced purification process, lower tissue reactivity is commonly observed following treatment, resulting in reduced swelling and a more comfortable recovery period.

Due to their high purity and long-standing clinical use, Croma PhilArt polynucleotides are well tolerated.

Who are polynucleotide injections suitable for?

Polynucleotide injections are recommended for:

• tired and dull-looking skin,
• dehydrated skin,
• reduced skin elasticity and firmness,
• prevention and correction of fine lines,
• skin affected by sun exposure or a demanding lifestyle,
• dark circles or puffiness in the under-eye area,
• improving skin tone, hydration and overall skin quality,
• stimulating scalp hair or eyebrow growth and strengthening hair follicles,
• patients seeking natural and subtle rejuvenation without altering facial features.

The treatment may be performed on the face, neck, décolletage, under-eye area, scalp and eyebrows.

When are polynucleotide injections not recommended?

The treatment is not performed if:

• there is an allergy to polynucleotides, fish-derived products or any ingredient in the product,
• there is active inflammation or infection in the treatment area,
• the patient has autoimmune diseases, particularly during an active phase,
• active cancer is present or cancer treatment is ongoing,
• during pregnancy or breastfeeding,
• the patient is under 18 years of age,
• there are blood clotting disorders or the patient is taking anticoagulant medication,
• immunosuppressive therapy is being used,
• chronic diseases are in an active flare-up phase,
• there is a tendency to develop keloid scars,
• recent aesthetic procedures have been performed and the recommended intervals have not yet passed,
• there is an acute viral infection, such as a cold, influenza, COVID-19 or similar illness.

Is any special preparation required?

No special preparation is necessary. Before the procedure, the doctor will assess your skin condition, general health status, allergy history and any possible contraindications, and will recommend an individual treatment plan.

How are polynucleotide injections performed?

During the procedure, polynucleotides are injected into the dermal layer of the skin using microinjections or micropapules. The product begins working immediately by activating regenerative processes within the skin.

The polynucleotides contained in Croma PhilArt products act as biological stimulators of tissue regeneration. Once introduced into the skin, they provide biological support for cells, activate fibroblast activity, support extracellular matrix renewal and help the body naturally produce collagen and elastin.

Polynucleotides gradually break down within the skin, allowing the biostimulatory effect to develop naturally and last longer. The result is not an immediate change but a gradual improvement in skin quality, firmness, elasticity and radiance.

Are polynucleotide injections painful?

Before treatment, the area is numbed using a topical anaesthetic cream. As a result, the microinjections are generally well tolerated and cause minimal discomfort.

How long does the procedure take?

The procedure typically takes approximately 30–45 minutes, depending on the treatment area and the extent of the procedure.

How many treatments are needed?

  • A standard treatment course consists of 3–4 sessions performed every 2–3 weeks.
  • For younger skin, 3 treatments at 3-week intervals are recommended, followed by maintenance treatments every 3 months.
  • For mature skin, 4 treatments at 2–3-week intervals are recommended, followed by maintenance treatments every 3 months.
  • For the under-eye area, 3 treatments at 3-week intervals are recommended.
  • For the scalp, 4 treatments at 2-week intervals are recommended, followed by maintenance treatments according to an individual treatment plan.

When can results be expected and how long do they last?

Improvements are often noticeable after the first treatment, with the skin appearing smoother and more radiant. In the under-eye area, dark circles may diminish, skin becomes firmer and more elastic, and overall tone and lymphatic drainage improve.

Optimal results are usually achieved after several weeks, when the skin has fully regenerated and collagen production has been stimulated.

It is important to note that polynucleotides are not dermal fillers. Their purpose is not to add volume or alter facial features. Instead, they stimulate the skin’s natural regenerative processes, resulting in gradual, natural-looking improvements. The skin becomes brighter, smoother and healthier-looking.

The effects of polynucleotide injections typically last for around 6 months.

To maintain the achieved results, repeat treatments are recommended, with frequency determined individually by the doctor.

Can polynucleotide injections be combined with other treatments?

Croma PhilArt polynucleotides are designed for biostimulation and can be successfully combined with other aesthetic medicine procedures.

They are often combined with botulinum toxin injections to improve both skin quality and the appearance of dynamic wrinkles.

This approach can provide harmonious results, including softer facial expressions, brighter skin and a naturally youthful appearance.

Aftercare following polynucleotide injections

  • For the first 24 hours after treatment, it is recommended to avoid applying concealing skincare products or make-up.
  • Intensive physical exercise should be avoided for the first 48 hours.
  • For 5–7 days, avoid excessive UV exposure, saunas and tanning beds.
  • Following scalp treatments, it is recommended not to wash the hair or treatment area for 12 hours.

Temporary redness, swelling and minor bruising may occur after treatment and typically resolve within one week.

Which products do we use?

The PhilArt range includes:

• PhilArt – for regeneration of the face, neck, décolletage and hands,
• PhilArt Next – for the neck and décolletage,
• PhilArt Eye – for the under-eye area,
• PhilArt Hair – for the scalp, hair and eyebrows.

Primum Estetica recommendation

The best results are usually achieved through a course of treatments. An individual treatment plan is developed during the consultation, based on skin condition, treatment goals and patient expectations.

Croma PhilArt polynucleotides are an investment in skin health, regeneration and long-term skin quality, using advanced regenerative aesthetic medicine solutions.

This treatment is particularly suitable for individuals who value healthy, strong and naturally radiant skin rather than artificial-looking changes.
